I am from Mexico, and I've been living in Fayetteville for [almost 2 years]. Wow, time flies! I’ve been studying at OLC for almost a year. I am a veterinarian (DVM). I did my Master’s in Poultry Virology. I started working in Fayetteville as a quality control manager, and my new promotion is as a director of the production plant. English is one of the most important parts in my job, because I am working with Americans and nobody speaks Spanish. It is a big challenge! I feel good using English at work, but I need to improve grammar and other language skills. My co-workers help me every day by teaching me new words (mostly slang and bad words LOL)! I try to improve.

You never finish learning a new language. I am always thankful to the teachers at OLC, they are very kind and very patient. My teachers Andrew, Leona, Alfred, and Bill are the best! I also learned from my classmates from different countries, it is amazing to be able to communicate between us our shared experiences, culture, and anecdotes. The parties at the OLC are very nice, we share food from China, Russia, Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, Vietnam, The Congo, Ghana and many other countries.
