Kim Flanery Coats was on the Board of Directors for Ozark Literacy Council from 2010-2013, and returned to the Board in 2014. She is an attorney practicing in Fayetteville with Littler Mendelson, an international law firm that represents employers regarding a broad range of employment matters. Prior to working at Littler, Kim was a faculty member at the University of Arkansas School of Law, where she taught classes in legal writing, contract drafting, pre-trial litigation, and appellate advocacy. She is originally from Oklahoma. After graduating from law school there, she practiced law at a commercial litigation firm in Oklahoma City and worked as an in-house counsel for a large privately-held company in Tulsa. She is a member of the American, Arkansas, and Washington County Bar Associations, is active in the William B. Putman Inn of Court, and is a member of the Rotary Club of Fayetteville.
